Stephanie Welch has been an ancestral health advocate since 2010. Her personal mission is to challenge commonly held beliefs and taboos about being a modern human -- the more uncomfortable the better -- in an effort she calls Disruptive Anthropology. In 2010, she defied doctors’ warnings about embarking on a paleo diet; in 2013 she became a full-time urban barefooter in Boston; in 2014 she took up intactivism, combatting both male and female circumcision; and in 2016 she moved to Nevada to study sexual commerce. She has invariably found that commonly held fears are highly disproportionate to reality.
